From the author:
" I have always loved art, science, and fantasy - in that order. After majoring in chemical engineering and hating it, I went back to my first love, art. I did cartooning and comic book art for a while, but eventually I came around to sci-fi and fantasy illustration.

I don't produce nearly as much work as I have ideas for doing. I'm much too critical of my own work and if a composition isn't perfect or at least much better than the last piece, then I tend to lose interest and not finish it. This is especially difficult for the begining artist who may get in over his or her head too quickly with grand dreams and only emerging abilities. That probably sounds odd because the pieces that are presented here are still baby steps toward being able to tell the many great stories waiting to break free of my tight mental grasp.

I learn and grow with every piece I create. Sharing what I have (experience and actual works) with others is the most enjoyable part of being an illustrator. "
