Getting Started
There are 3 ways to submit a map into the Testing Grounds (and thus into the HyperArchive), although the basic 'rules' apply to all three methods.

  1. Check the map for crashable bugs and other annomalies. If you find anything that will cause problems for players, note it in the ReadMe (see point 2)
  2. Always include a ReadMe file. For simplicity this should be an editable SimpleText document and should include (at a minimum):
  3. Package the map and ReadMe into a Stuffit Archive (.sit) and then BinHex (.hqx) it. You can download Stuffit Lite from here

After packaging your map and readme, you have the following choices for getting it to us.

HTTP
This is probably the easiest way if you have a reasonably stable connection - if you often have problems downloading files from www.marathon.org this isn't the method for you. You should also be using Netscape/Internet Explorer versions 4 or greater, as you'll be sending using the form upload method. Head this way to continue.

EMAIL
If you can't upload via FTP or HTTP, your last resort is to email your map file. This involves a little bit of work by us to move the file into the Testing Grounds, so use one of the other methods if possible. If you need to email the map, follow this link.
